KALI IRVIN, CSP CHST
Kali Irvin graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in adolescent and young adult science education. She began pursing her Masters' in Earth and Environmental Science when she was introduced to a professor who taught Industrial Hygiene courses in the same college. Shortly after meeting her professor she joined ASSP as a student member and went on to become the Vice President of the campus Kitty Hawk chapter. She began her safety career as an intern at a local general contractor from the Dayton area, where she went on to hire on full-time and manage safety on a variety of project sites from hospitals, waste water treatment plants, and general use spaces.
Kali began finding areas to increase her knowledge of the industry by attending a wide range of courses offered from the BWC, Mid-America OSHA, and college courses. She obtained her Associate Safety Professional certification from the BCSP before moving into her next role.
Kali also spent time as a contractor safety coordinator at a corn milling facility where she managed all contractor safety relations for maintenance and shutdowns that occurred at the facility. While there she gained knowledge around Human Performance and how to incorporate human factor into leading and lagging indicators.
For the past couple of years, Kali has spent her time traveling around the United States managing other safety professionals and team members on wind turbine project sites. While on the road she obtained her Construction Health and Safety Technician certification, Certified Safety Professional, and even her OSHA 500 certification.
She has dedicated her life long learning philosophy to the safety and well being of blue collar workers in a variety of different industries, in a variety of different roles which brings a unique view of work place safety to the table.
Not only does she have a passion for the construction industry, she enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures, even the subtle differences the United States offers from state to state. Sports have always been a huge part of her life as a player, a coach, and a fan. She enjoys a variety of craft beers, and the occasional light beer.
